As President, I am committed to making healthcare more affordable and accessible for all Americans. This is not just a moral imperative, but an economic necessity. We must recognize that the cost of healthcare is not only a burden on individuals and families, but also a significant drag on our economy. By investing in preventive care and reducing administrative costs, we can create a system that benefits everyone.
We will achieve this by building on the progress made under the Affordable Care Act, while also addressing its limitations. This includes expanding Medicaid to cover more low-income individuals and families, as well as creating a public option to increase competition and drive down prices.
We must also invest in our healthcare workforce by increasing funding for medical research, improving access to mental health services, and supporting the training and development of healthcare professionals. This includes providing scholarships and loan forgiveness programs to encourage more students to pursue careers in healthcare.
Furthermore, we will work to address the shortage of primary care physicians and other healthcare providers in underserved communities by increasing funding for community health centers and expanding telemedicine services.
As President, I will prioritize transparency in healthcare by making it easier for patients to access their medical records and understand the costs associated with their care. We must also hold pharmaceutical companies accountable for their pricing practices and ensure that they are working in the best interests of patients.
We will achieve this by increasing funding for independent research and oversight, as well as strengthening regulations around drug pricing and marketing practices.
